為了讓更多孩子能更健康愉快地學習和成長，一群家長在2014年凝聚而成「教育大同」。我們深感本地教育發展逐漸倒果為因，過度著重考試成績，智力以外，學生個別的身心發展需要卻備受冷待。為滿足父母和師長對學業的過高期望，孩子無奈地在家校壓力下成長，甚至影響了正常的家庭生活。
在探索世界各地不同的教與學理念中，我們深受啓發，因而盼望透過舉辦會議與各界分享。我們看到不同人士及機構也在默默地為建構一個健康的學習文化而努力當中，故成立「教育大同」這個民間組織，旨便集思廣益、聚眾之力，鼓勵家長、教育界以致社會各界重新思考教育，勇於選擇忠於孩子需要的教育模式，共譜教育大同的理想。
我們希望推廣一些在世界上廣被接受但在香港卻被誤解的教育理念。我們希望透過了解孩子及年青人現在和未來的需要，幫助大家在教育方面作出明智和有彈性的選擇。
愛護孩子、深愛家庭、熱愛香港，是「教育大同」組織起來的原動力，但願孩子能在一個更和諧、更健康的社會中茁壯成長，以仁愛和熱誠回饋這美好的家園。
EDiversity was founded by a group of Hong Kong parents who are concerned about the education available to children in the territory. We first came together with the shared idea that we needed to spark a rethink about education in a conference setting. This led to the forming of EDiversity, which enabled us to formally liaise with other bodies through our organisation.
We believe every child is different and education should be a joyful, inspiring, challenging and fulfilling experience for everyone, but the over-emphasis of exam results and the general mythical belief that more homework and drilling is good for learning is creating so much stress for students, parents and teachers, that these positive experiences are often difficult to deliver.
We think parents play an important role in their child’s education. A parent’s view of education will influence how their child is brought up, how schools teach and how the government design education policies. We hope to empower parents with the awareness of the latest educational information. Through conferences, our website and regular community gatherings, we hope to help more to reflect on education, so they can make an informed choice and help their child to grow and learn healthily for their futures.
